Indianapolis Warehousing
Asset-based warehousing, contract storage, and 3PL at the Crossroads of America
Johnson Warehousing operates a 30,000 sq ft facility in Indianapolis, IN, supporting B2B warehousing, contract warehousing, cross-dock, and 3PL programs across central Indiana and the eastern Midwest. We own and operate the building, racks, yard, and local handling. Indianapolis sits at the convergence of I-65, I-69, I-70, and I-74, the historic “Crossroads of America,” alongside the FedEx Ground super hub at Indianapolis International. The facility serves as the eastern bookend of our Midwest network, paired west with our Kansas City (Lee’s Summit) hub 480 miles down I-70.
What This Location Is Best For

- Fulfillment center Indianapolis and ecommerce fulfillment Indianapolis for regional and national brands positioning inventory at the Midwest demographic center.

- Manufacturing and industrial distribution for Allison Transmission, regional Cummins, Subaru, Toyota, Honda, and the wider Indiana automotive and industrial cluster.
- Hospitality FF&E staging for downtown Indianapolis hotel renovations, NCAA HQ event programs, Indianapolis Motor Speedway event windows, and Indianapolis convention center cycles.
- Cross-dock, transload, and freight rework for inbound freight moving through the I-65, I-69, I-70, and I-74 corridors that needs to be received, sorted, and released on a schedule.

FAQs
The Indianapolis facility is currently committed against ongoing programs. We have limited flex capacity available for the right program and may be able to scope a smaller-footprint workflow against current availability. For larger programs or bulk floor footprint, the fastest path is to scope into our Kansas City Lee’s Summit hub 480 miles west on I-70, which currently has approximately 50,000 sq ft of open floor space plus 250,000 sq ft of temporary warehouse capacity available. Request a capacity check with your inventory profile and dates and we will route the program to whichever Johnson Warehousing facility fits.
We offer operated warehousing programs (contract warehousing, shared and public pallet storage, short-term storage) rather than raw real estate leases. All programs include receiving, racked or floor storage, WMS-tracked inventory, handling, and outbound. We do not lease bulk floor footprint as a passive lease — we operate the space as a working warehouse on your behalf, scoped against current capacity.
Yes, scoped against current capacity. The Indianapolis facility supports pick, pack, and outbound from one of the strongest freight-corridor locations in the country. With four interstates converging in Indianapolis and the FedEx Ground super hub at Indianapolis International, the location supports 1-day ground delivery zones to most of the eastern U.S. and 2-day national zones. Current fit is best for smaller-footprint regional fulfillment programs; larger national fulfillment volumes typically route to Kansas City Lee’s Summit instead.
It depends on the program (project vs ongoing). We’ll align terms with operational needs—not force a one-size-fits-all structure.
Yes. The Indianapolis facility supports pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences inventory programs with controlled access, secure storage, audit-friendly reporting, and the operational discipline that regulated industries require. Indianapolis is home to Eli Lilly’s global HQ, Roche Diagnostics, and a dense regional biopharma cluster, and the facility is positioned to support distributors and suppliers operating in that ecosystem.
Yes. Indianapolis runs as a stand-alone location or, more commonly, as the eastern node of a multi-market Midwest program paired with our Kansas City Lee’s Summit hub. For buyers needing significant Midwest capacity, Kansas City is the larger operational hub and Indianapolis is the eastern bookend.
We support broker and 3PL partner capacity at Indianapolis to the extent current availability allows. Most large broker overflow programs route to Kansas City Lee’s Summit, which has significantly more open capacity. Tell us what your client needs and we will tell you which facility fits.
